Stefan is writing in his diary again. And this is very interesting, and very important, because Stefan and Elena stopped writing in their diaries when they met. In episode 2, Elena tells Stefan “Then I realized I would only be writing things I should probably be telling you.” When they met each other, they finally found a person that understands them, that listens and with whom they can be honest with. Stefan lost his person, he doesn’t have a luxury of sharing his pain with her. They’re not partners anymore, and everything that happens, he had to carry it all by himself. And at the moment, that’s fine with Stefan, because he hates himself. But with Elena, it was easier, with her.. he was less lost. So don’t ever tell me Stefan is going to be fine without Elena. Without her, he will never be complete again.
Him saying he hadn’t tasted human blood since the Wickery bridge incident only proves to me what I’ve been saying all along. Stefan won’t, and never did, change so Elena can love him. But because she loves him, and because he loves her. He had hurt her, one person he swore he would never hurt. She was his wake up call. Elena can always calm Stefan down.
